One other thing to consider... My alpha hen just hatched a clutch of six last week. They are already integrated into the flock. No problems there. However, one of the chicks got trapped in the feeder when she hopped up and in while one of the other hens was eating! Thank goodness I went out shortly after and heard her peeping... For now, everybody’s eating big bird chow out of rubber tubs. The “micros” eat their chick starter out of a plastic hanging feeder on the sand in the run. Once the chicks grow a little more, I’ll move the Grandpa’s Feeders back in.
