Folks - This year is my first experience with chickens, and I only wanted hens to get some eggs, educate the kids, enjoy watching them, etc. Unfortunately, amongst the chicks I got from Tractor Supply one turned out to be a meat bird, and a rooster at that. I don't want to even try to have fertilized eggs, and even if I did, this guy is so big and so awkward that I'm not sure he could do the job anyhow. Also, I'm starting to worry about ticking my neighbors off because he crows all day long and often at night, too. So, I just don't have any particular use for this guy, but at this point in time I am just not ready to learn to process a meat bird for consumption. I was hoping there might be someone in the area who would be interested in taking him, free of course. (I can't post in the for sale area yet because I don't have 10 posts as yet). If anyone is interested, or has thoughts on how I can find someone who is interested, let me know. Thanks -
