Our first six chickensI had a rooster Reddy of the same breed.
I remember my Chester. He was a mean bantam with no spurs. One day, there was some heavy equipment working in my backyard. I figured that it might of been scaring my Chester so I tried comforting him. Well, obviously something was going on. He bit me on the nose and it hurt a lot! Suddenly I didn't feel like comforting him anymore, but he always did seem proud when he felt like top roo.Oh, goodness!
If we had a rooster like that, I doubt that he'd last a week.
We had a Lakenvelder rooster, Oreo, who was quite the snit. He once jumped at my brother's face and almost scratched his eye out.
Oreo didn't last the rest of the day.
