I've got a rooster that just hates the two year old. When we're in the pen, when I'm not near enough to him Erak will sneak up on the baby and if I look at him he'll stop and scratch the ground, like "I'm not doing anything!" and then attack the two year old.
Oh, goodness!
If we had a rooster like that, I doubt that he'd last a week.
We had a Lakenvelder rooster, Oreo, who was quite the snit. He once jumped at my brother's face and almost scratched his eye out.
Oreo didn't last the rest of the day.

Oof.

My old RIR roo decided he was going to monitor my fashion choices. He attacked the laces on my sneakers. I came back with boots and showed him who's boss. He snuck up on me - but didn't attack - a couple of other times. He went to freezer camp with the broilers. I don't want to deal with roosters like that.

I had an Oreo once. I've got to keep Erak because he's the only male Brown Leghorn in my flock. Half of Oreo's kids looked like eagles.

I'm glad LOL. I don't make much sense to myself half the time, and I'm confused about what other people say more often than not.
Don't worry about it. I totally understand where you're coming from.
I'm pretty sure that I cried after Cinnamon died... and definitely after Kahlua.
Neither of these breakdowns were as waterfall-esque as the one that happened after Kirby, Eclipse, and Shade disappeared earlier this year, though. Kirby was a Japanese Bantam, the other two seemed to be some kind of black Sultan crossbreed that were labelled as "Southern Ramblers."
Eclipse was the boy. He was the most beautiful, bumbling, lovable goofball that I have ever raised. Poor thing couldn't see well because of his crest, and he didn't last six months.
I regret that this is the only photo of him and Shade:

:hugs
I take pictures pretty regularly now because when I lost my Little Jerry (avvy) I only had one or two good pictures of him. I definitely cried as well.

I LOVE black chickens! My first chicken was black. Shade and Eclipse are such great names! My first chicken was named Blacky. Imaginative, right? Now I've got an EE named Darkthing. I wrote this series of epic poems with darkthings in them and I liked them so much I named my chicken after them.
