I have 8 new chicks, about 3 weeks old, (although one seems much younger, maybe 2 weeks old or so). We got them from a farmer who had many different types of chickens. He had a list of what they were supposed to be, but I think we ended up with some surprises! Here is the list of what he said were possibilities- Brahmas, Buff Orpingtons, Jersey Giants, Black Australorp, Ameracaunas, RIR's, and NH Reds.
#1 We call her Magellan, she is VERY curious of the world outside her box.
#2 Similar to #1, but whiter tips on feathers
#3 Darker brown head, looks like a calico cat.
#4 I think she is a Light Brahma, has feathered feet
#5 Dark Brahma? Has feathered black feet (she is our sweetest chick, loves to cuddle)
#6 Was supposed to be a Black Jersey Giant, but she has a white spot on her head and is developing white tips. Maybe a Barred Plymouth Rock?
#7 Golden color, yellow legs
Here is another shot of #7, on the left.
#8 Our little runt. She is developing white wings. Has yellow legs.
The whole gang-
