I have a barred rock pullet who threw me like that. She didn't squat and is very skittish, so I was only able to determine she was actually laying when I found her in the nest box. Go figure!Only one is laying, both eggs were identical. She was in the nest box this morning for a half hour by herself so I now know she's the first one to start laying, even though she showed no signs!
