Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

How long has you hatch been? Ours started yesterday at 12:30pm. It is now day 20, so I'm thinking at least til tomorrow evening.

Ours started yesterday morning before 7. Kids got up for school and found 3 pips. Yesterday was day 22. For 7 eggs and 21 for two eggs. The one I'm waiting on is one of the late eggs. Still a bit concerned even though it keeps sticking its beak out.I have given up on one of the eggs that was due with the first group.the last one is pipped on the wrong end, but the egg is round on both ends so hope it turns out well. Not sure if or when I should intervene. Can't keep my face out of the window. I do have other things to do today. Lol

Boy do I know what you mean! I we are up to 6 hatched. I read it's a personal preference to intervene but if he has been at it for more than 12 hours and it is day 22, so you wouldn't be interrupting another eggs hatch... I can't wait to get mine out of there. Humidity in incubator is only 39, I can't get it higher but it doesn't seem to be hindering anything at this point.

so do you think I should go in at this point?if so I have to get on YouTube and start doing some homework.

Did you intervene? I am new to this so I don't want to give wrong info. I would of considering your current conditions. Mine still have a long time left in my hatch so at this point I wouldn't should I run into that issue. If it's down to the last egg I would for sure. That's just me... I hope it all turned out well for you. We still only have 6 and several others are pipped. The chicks are rolling them all around in there, LOL. It's very exciting yet somewhat stressful experience.

I intervened with my chick woodstove on Sunday. he ppipped but had no progress after 24 hours. So I got the bathroom super hot and steamy, blunt tweezers, several wet wet wet clothes and a dropper for water. There are a couple of threads on here that will walk you through it. I succeeded but it was nerve wracking!

We had one stuck on his back for about an hour... We slipped in a skewer to flip him over, good thing because he was glued down... I pray we didn't compromise the others but the temp barely changed and humidity didn't at all. One is almost ready to zip at this time. I bet it was nerve wracking, I am anxious just anticipating what may happen, lol.

It was out this morning. Glad I waited. Going to call the last one. So that is 8 of 9 on our first ever hatch attempt. Not bad for a cooler my son found in the creek and parts I had in the garage.
