Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

My bantam d'Uccles have always hatched on day 19 but it seems the others wait the full 21. Also have had a few wait until 22 or 23 but I think the incubator temp was a little low the 2nd have of the period.

I have 3 little babies chirping away in the 'bator! Still need the 12 other to get with it!! But it's just 5 hours into day 21, so I won't freak out yet. I'm just happy to have 3 strong, healthy and normal babies for now!!

Not a very good pic, but it's all I could manage. I didn't realize how messy hatching eggs could be!! These 3 have got everything.. EVERYWHERE. But they are darlings.

They are cute! I've still only got 2, but some of my other eggs have started rocking.

They are messy! They get gunk on the other eggs, scatter them and poop all over! I usually use cartons to catch some of the mess, but of course didn't this time.

In up to 5 babies now! I thought it came from one that pipped last night but it wasn't! So far they all appear to be sex-links. 2 black sex links, and 3 cinnamon queen sex links. so if that's the case, I have 4 girls and a boy.

I have 3 chicks now. #3 pipped on the wrong end of the egg but managed to get out on its own. Its umbilical site still looks pretty swollen and it was bleeding a bit so I stuck it in a piece of egg carton in the incubator to rest out of the way of the other chicks. One of those chicks is a little bully, so I figured the new baby would be safer if its bottom was more hidden. Ugh, haha.

First pip this morning! 1 day earlier than expected. Can't edit to see what happens. Wasn't even sure if this one was fertile! I can't seem to see anything through our blue eggs. It is an ameraucana/faverolle mix

Any advice on integrating new chicks with our lonely 3 week old?

Congrats! I always needed a strong flashlight to see thru my blue, green and darker brown eggs.

Whenever I've had loners, they were always happy to see other chicks. I just put them in the brooder when they were getting around good. If you're worried, you could separate them with a piece of wire for a few days
