Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

YEA! My blue bantam Faverolles are hatching!! I have 1 light one and a charcoal sortof color one...they aren't fluffed up yet. 1 more of those to go. I checked the last one and it is still moving around in the egg but no pips.
My next round are on day 13 ( I think, I keep forgetting to look ) I don't know how many are good. I can't see well enough through their eggs to tell. They are LF blue Faverolles.

YAY!! Congratulations

Hay all my fellow hatchers!!!

I strongly advise downloading and using this app is you already haven't got it! It is called "iHatch-Chickens" , it's only 99cents and is amazing. It shows you a day to day picture of what your eggs should look like when candled and you can set your own ( multiple ) hatches in the diary part.

It's out for apple products ( iPhone, iPad etc ), not sure about android but you can always try.

I am using it and I really like it!

Sam - How are those Marans eggs going? Tried to candle them yet?
My due hatch is only 1 week away!!!

On a side note Monday night while turning the eggs I dropped one. (Sadness and shame!!) no fixing this so I tossed it. this morning I was breaking the news to my little one and she talked me into digging it out of the trash and opening it. WAY cool. you could see the eye ans limb buds forming. Glad she made me do it. I can't wait until 4 pm to candle the rest. (have to wait for kids to get home, I promised.) It is day 7 so hope to see something.

Colerbator has been great so far. Holding temps between 99 and 100. until last night when outside temp dropped to -15 and inside went to 57. bator went down to 98-99deg but from everything I have read I should not worry. Humidity bumped a bit to 53% with bator trying to keep temp but until then was holding steady around 45% os I think (Hope) we will be fine.

I sat 2 batches close to your date.

Batch 2: 1/19/14 - 2/9/14

72 eggs
Same breeds as above

Incubator:
Leahy 1200 Redwood

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, we got a new puppy a few days ago so I've been super busy!

My 7 Silkie eggs are still moving right along as expected. Tonight they go into lock down and hopefully I'll have some adorable chick pictures to post by Sunday or Monday. On a sadder note, my beautiful blue hen was killed by a hawk today. Of course she was my favorite. I'm double glad I collected that extra batch of eggs for the incubator now. It just won't be the same without her :(

I hope everyone else is doing okay!
