Yay, another broody!

So, my girl made her nest on the floor, they're coop is a converted shed, its about 8 by 10 feet. Pretty large for the 6 of them, right? Well I went in to collect some eggs and found that another hen had kicked my broody off her nest to lay an egg. I marked the ones broody's sitting on, but I just thought it was too funny how she just had to have that nest! I picked her up and tossed her in the nest box and Broody squawked and hurried to her eggs.

Just wanted to share.

Candled this morning and 9 out of 10 look great!!!! 1 is still a maybe. So far so good.

I downloaded that app and the kids love it. Thanks for the tip.

Set Jan 20 due to hatch Feb 10.
Also 9 eggs set in bator today again also back yard mutts

My broody made her nest under my house but I am grateful because of the weather. I can't wait to see the babies

Thanks everyone, for the congrats and condolences. Having the puppy definitely doesn't give me much time to dwell on the bad, plus that adorable little face makes me feel better everytime I look at it

And our other dog, Dudley, seems very happy to have a friend!

That is a link to a thread and gives results of the float test! Hope that helps! As for my eggs-- They are on day 15,14,and 13. I have 7 developing on target and 2 maybes. I tossed 7 blood rings on day 10.

Hay all my fellow hatchers!!!

I strongly advise downloading and using this app is you already haven't got it! It is called "iHatch-Chickens" , it's only 99cents and is amazing. It shows you a day to day picture of what your eggs should look like when candled and you can set your own ( multiple ) hatches in the diary part.

It's out for apple products ( iPhone, iPad etc ), not sure about android but you can always try.

I am using it and I really like it!


Sam - How are those Marans eggs going? Tried to candle them yet?
My due hatch is only 1 week away!!!

Arg... im on day 8 and looks like 5/10 on the marans (this was a fertility check for Satay) My Ara's are looking good 3 have odd looking airsacs but they were posted
