Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

I am looking for silkie eggs to hatch for Easter if any suggestions please let me know! I was scared to order online from just any website because It's my first egg order & I am clueless who to use. They will be new little members of the family & I didn't want to make the wrong choice!! So now I have everything I need...but my eggs

If we knew where you were located, you could probably find a local BYC member to get your eggs from

I got mine off ebay and I have 8 that are white, blue, black and buff. Some are vaulted some have beards... they are beautiful and sweet with all the proper silkie features. If you want to know who let me know

The seller is nanagolden and almost all of them hatched, one didn't because of a ruptured yolk sac and the one next to it didn't make it because the yolk leaked on it and went bad, stunk bad and I didn't know it cuz they were in corner face down from other fuzzybutts knocking them around. Anyway had great success and she was nice and helpful.

What kind of eggs are you hatching? Mine went in the 7th and day 21 tomorrow, nobody is doing anything yet which drives me crazy, I'm hoping they do okay and oh so anxiously awaiting a sign

I had a barnyard mix! Some silkie, RIR, Sex Link, White Leghorn, White Rock, Black Jersey Giant, Black Orpington, Easter Egger, and JapxSilkie....I ended up with 6 hatched and 1 died--she had a soggy abdomen and her eyes wouldn't open. So I have 5 going, 1 extra small and 1 with spraddle leg currently in a band aid brace! Good Luck

I got mine off Ebay also! I try to buy some one as close as possible. About a 50% hatch rate is what people say you get with shipped eggs. Hatching eggs for last Easter is what got me started and I have not stop!

I now have 10 and a 1/2 new babies and counting this is the best hatch of shipped eggs I have ever had. I am gonna stick with dry incubation. I always buy in larger quantity since my hatch rate stinks and now I have all these cuties so happy. I hope everyone has this many new babies too

Well I ended up with 14 out of 17 shipped Brahmas. One poor little guy was zipped and nothing for hours but I still had others pipped and zipping so I had to wait. Got him out and let him dry but he looked glossy wet an hour later so I got him out and he was hard like he was coated with egg whites and it hardened on him and he couldn't even move. I decided to give him a warm water bath he is definitely having a hard time so Ill just keep an eye out and hope he makes it never seen anything like it

Well carp I just went to check sticky and the last chick to hatch has a small ball of yolk sac sticking out, what do I do about that? I'm gonna leave it for now because I have no idea about that and I don't want to make it worse. These are my extra needs fuzzybutt. Help????
