Anyone want to help us choose a few new chicks???

My Rhode Island Reds, NH Reds and Barred Rock are very nice. They just started laying two weeks ago but I am getting four to five eggs a day out of seven birds.

Ha, chickens on a boat! Actually I know someone who was cruising in the South Pacific in the 70s and met a boat that had a chicken coop on davits (sort of cantilevered off the back of the boat)... it had a wire floor so the poop just fell in the sea, and since boats always lay bow-to the wind at anchor (that is, the back end is always downwind) the smell was always carried away by the wind! But I don't think they'd do very well on the 3-week passages that South Pacific cruising entails!

I went outside this morning and Mrs. Fitzpatrick, my Speckled Sussex came over and got in my lap and just sat there. She is so sweet! Get a Speckled Sussex, you wont be sorry.
