Anyone want to predict what my chicks would look like :3

They would be barnyard mix. Sadly, that pretty white is recessive and won't show up on your chicks. Basically what you'll be doing is crossing a black bird with a buff bird. Those two colors can make some pretty offspring cause buff doesn't get swallowed up by the black like other colors can. Your chicks would be about half and half buff and black. You can find pics of black x buff birds here on byc or google.

Thank you so much! Any idea if the Leghorn or the Orpington gene is more dominate, or is it a waiting game? I think a big fat Buffy with those long Leghorn legs might look very funny. LOL

She's probably a Production Red, if she's lacking white.
I looked up some pictures and some look EXACTLY LIKE HER so I'm really glad I found her breed finally but she may still just be a mutt, but the chicks wont be white will they?

If she's a Production Red, then she doesn't have the dominant white that red sexlinks usually have. Chicks should be black. Males will likely develop some red as they mature.

Not quite sure what you're asking. Your birds will likely be a bit heavier than the typical Leghorn, but slimmer than the Orpington. The Orpingtons' white skin is dominant over the Leghorns' yellow. And all will likely be brown layers.

UPDATE: it doesn't matter what breed my red hen is because most of her eggs so far have been quitters ;-; but the sex links are kicking up a storm in their eggs

This is the first chick to hatch from Ocikat's original post. Am i right to assume it is a boy?

I don't know .. my son is home sick (lucky coincidence! and he took the picture for me. It hasn't fluffed out yet, but it appears to have a white spot above the beak. My son isn't the most skilled photographer in the family.

Oh...heehee hee, sorry, my newbie status is showing! I will just have to try and contain my excitement until I get home and can look for myself.
