Missed that one, will have to catch the next one! I watched last week's episode of one woman who broke off her OCD ex Navy boyfriend whose house was cluttered. She could not deal with that issue in her life....she is smart not to get herself dragged down by him but she should not broke off the relationship. She could have been a friend to him. Unless there were more problems in the relationship they are not saying.

Yes I remember the one about the goat....UGH!

i've been watching that show, not for the shock value, but to try to understand the hoarders. i have a sister who has strong tendencies. When i've tried to help her get rid of stuff in the past, she freaks out. She was living in a mobile home i owned for about four years. You had to walk sideways through the house. Every surface was covered with glassware, junk, papers, tools sticking out at dangerous angles. She went off on vacation once and i went over to check on her pets with the pet sitter she had hired. It was over a hundred in the house. One cat was laying on his side crying. We had to unearth another cat from under a dresser in a room packed(!) with clothes and junk. Got them out of there and i know we saved their lives. It took over a year and an eviction notice to get her out of there when we needed to sell. Spent thousands on cleaning, especially that carpet.

Now she's in her own home, much larger than any previous home, and she's filling that up fast. i try to just tell myself that it's none of my business, as long as i don't have to help move her again.

I watch that show, but sometimes it's overwhelming and depressing because I don't think most of the people are going to make any long term changes. I feel sorry for them and I feel sorry for thier relatives and children.
