Anyone Watching "Downsized" Tonight?

I'm guessing that's a cable show, so we don't get it. But stories like that FRUSTRATE me to no end anyhow, in large part because of what you guys pointed out...still spending on things they don't NEED. I listen to Dave Ramsey on the radio, and am continuously amazed at how many folks live beyond their means, many with $50,000 plus of credit card debt alone

I watched. I think a down grade in housing is in their future. That was a really nice, big newer rent house they were in. I see a dump coming. lol

I just loved the part where the lady is boohooing and crying and whining to her husband about how they have NOTHING left to sell.......as the camera is focusing in on her Chanel diamond earrings

I'm sorry, I just can't feel bad for people that blow $18,000 per month and then suddenly find themselves broke. Dave Ramsey anyone?

I don't think these people know what real downsizing is... not yet anyway. There are 7 kids, so it's actually a family of 9. But, did you see this rental house? Umm, when you're broke you don't live in a house like that. Smaller, cheaper house is needed here. I wish they'd said how much the rent was, but they just kept mentioning they were short $300. Do they really need a house with an office? My daughter's business office is a corner in the livingroom. Do those boys really need a ping pong table? No, they don't. All the teenagers had cell phones. They are NOT a necessity. I'd want the girls to have one when on dates, but the kids could share an emergency only phone.

The car? Well if the Grands gave the oldest girl a car I certainly wouldn't take it away from her, however, who's paying for gas, maintenance and insurance? And why aren't the older kids working? They have kids that are 17, 16 and 15 year old triplets, not sure on Levi's age. Is he 15 also? That's 6 kids that should at least be doing part-time something. The girls are old enough for regular jobs or at the very least babysitting. The boys could be doing odd jobs mowing and such. I started working at 13, my own kids at 15. They are raising kids who are used to having everything handed to them without having to work. Bad bad idea. This is on every week and it'll be interesting to see if a lightbulb ever goes off over these parents.

Oh...and I forgot about the mercedes in the driveway! This show is a little annoying.

We thought it was very annoying just from the clips they kept running all week. So no didn't watch it - don't intend to. I miss good TV, nothing much worth watching anymore.

LOL..ooh yeah! Hubby saw that too!

Downsizing. I believe is when you go from one standard of living to another lower standard. Sounds like they can still afford some things. He must have a 401k he's tapping. Give them a break. They'll be down at everyone elses level soon enough.

The show should focus on people that are actually scraping by. Too many people in this country don't realize what it's like to go from comfortable to nothing. They need to stick that in their faces. Have some people selling their kids on the street to make ends meet.
