what temp did you have for hatching, mine has been fluctuating so much lately...and ugh it is full of eggs on day 21...lost all eggs monday due to temps i think...i have a great idea from bycer to fix this problem as soon as i can empty it...

i keep mine at 101. with a still air they say that is the temp you need to keep it at.

How high was the spike? Mine spiked to 111 one time and i still had a few survivors!! tough buggers!!!

Yeah i have mine at 102 and it went up to 114 and chicks still hatched lol

My first successful hatch the temp stayed right at 100 the whole way through. This time, it spiked to about 106 the first day and has dropped as far as 96 overnight. I candled last night, which is day 7, and at least half of them are definitely developing. Don't give up just yet, these little critters are tougher than you might think. Good luck with your hatch.

I started out with a LG still air but after 2 days of temps all over the place, I broke down and got a pc fan installed...no more temps problems.

I have hatched using the LG still air & I usually try to keep mine between 99.5 to 100.5. Mine decided it was going to spike last time too & went to 106 degrees & I'm not sure how long it had been like that but it couldn't have been more than a few hours (it was during the night) but the hatch still was successful. If I see a spike like that I usually lift the lid to get the temp to come down to normal & then I keep an eye onit to see if it's going to go back up again. I have had to make adjustments to control temps & I usually try to catch it before it goes above 101.

Seems like there has to be a better way......... I am trying water filled bags in the bottom of mine and a blanket over the top and it has really helped the fluctuations. Either that of my thermometer has quit
