Actually, I have done that. I am a math and science teacher now but taught special education for 25 years. Just turn OCD into a positive, take it one step at a time and have a TON of patience... oh a good sense of humor helps!!!! There is a cool app called dragon box that my SPED kids liked and taught algebra concepts.... :woot

Aren't we all like that.... if he loves science just sprinkle the math into as much science as you can. My kids at school will sometimes say "Hey Mrs. H. is this math class or science class cuz we're doing both...." Encourage him to have fun with it. Math is about finding patterns and manipulating the equations. Problem with math is most of the time no one has made it fun....
 
Math:sick Just joking, a little, lol. My DH is amazing with math. Don't get me wrong, I can handle it, I'd just rather not have to. I think my brain is wired so the artsyfartsy side dominates the math side of my brain. I've been trying to plow through a self taught Algebra course just to see if my brain still functions and I tell ya, talk about pulling teeth....

Momma Runner, consider yourself hugged along with everyone else. You have my highest respect for what you have gone through this week.

So how many nurses do we have here besides you, Cap and myself? I retired two years ago having graduated in 1975.I specialized OB/GYN, Surgical and Geriatric nursing (Alzheimers/dementia patients) I get asked if I miss it. I miss the patients but I do not miss the stress. You said that you are Native American? What tribal affiliation? I am part Cherokee, eligible for tribal registry except my great grandmother never enrolled. So frustrating. All we can find of her history is a mention that my great grandfather married a Cherokee woman named Alice. We have her last name but that is where the trail ends. Several cousins are trying to track down her tribe but they too are hitting brick walls. Without enrollment we are pretty much out of luck. I have a picture of grandma Alice and yep, she's Native American alright.

I'm offering hugs tonight to everyone. Life is pretty darned good right now for me. I have my health problems but they don't slow me down much, I have a loving husband to whom I have been married for almost 11 years now. My chickens are currently not dying from Marek's which is in my flock so yeah, life is good and for this I am truly grateful.

The only clouds I see is that our beloved cattle dog is suffering from Degenerative Myelopathy and slowly declining. It is so painful to watch this vital, friendly, funny dog go from rambunctious power house to being unable to get his hind legs working together so he can walk across the yard. He is now wearing traction shoes. I call them his bedroom slippers and he stands patiently while I put them on him. I hug him a hundred times a day and tell him how much his daddy and mommy love him. If I had a magic wand I would definitely wave it over him and make him whole again. We know that the day is coming that we will have to let his spirit cross that rainbow bridge, but not today. So please give Dingo a hug. He is a good dog and doesn't deserve what fate and genetics have handed him.

So compared with what you have been dealing with Momma Runner, and the heartbreak and grief so many have experience this week, I have no complaints and am offering up mental hugs to all.:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs
 
I'm a researcher and the big mama doc.:lau. I am Cherokee and my family left the tribe. They got mad about casino and where old school. I'm probably the only one in my age group that still speak Cherokee.
It's a proven fact that if your creative, your bad at math. Because you can't argue math 1+1 will always equal 2.
