Anyone Who Needs A Hug

Pics
He's alive. He drank a little bit this morning of electrolytes. If he keeps drinking I can take out ivy. I m doing research to see if I can give him infant pain drops of some kind. How are you all doing today?
I have liquid leaking out my ear and my ears are ringing. I have been resting and sleeping a lot.
You could give him half a baby aspirin if you feel the danger of bleeding is over. Hugs:hugs:hugs for you and Gus.

OMG! Mama Runner :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugsHugs to you and to GusGus. What a lucky little duck he is to have a doctor for his duck mom.

What attacked the poor baby?

I can't begin to find the words to say how impressed I am by your strength of will and compassion to operate on your own duck and put him back together. I've done bumble foot....who hasn't...my husband, Doctor Dear has treated lots of eye infections and injuries in our chickens (he keeps telling me 'I'm a people doctor. I don't know nuthin about doctorin no chicken eyes) I just tell him eyes are eyes besides, we don't have a chicken doctor anywhere near so the birds are depending on us. We are all they have. I usually hold the latest victim up for him to see the swollen nasty eye and he just signs and gets his portable slit lamp Yep, got me a good man.

Question, what did you use for anesthesia on Gus Gus? I have a young pullet (about 3-4 months old) with something growing on it's second eyelid. DH thinks it is a tumor or cyst. No drainage, no eye involvement. Just this firm lump on her eyelid. He said he would cut into it but like me he wants to use anesthetic on the skin. She is a good little girl. Easily handled and pleasant. Neither of us want to cause her any more discomfort.

Cap, hugs to you also, my friend. :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs Feel better soon and like I said. Try not to worry. Have you ever tried cinnamon to help control your blood sugar? It does work I am told. But being sick can elevate your sugar levels so don't hit the panic button until you are feeling better.

I have had abnormal blood sugars for a while but yeah, i have been sick on and off for a long time. I really do need to cut back and lose weight. Hugs.

Isofurane but I'm not a vet. I did research online.

Neither is my husband, LOL :lau

That's the good stuff. Sigh. Wish our vet would think of my chickens as being really short Ostriches. He will treat them and Emus but not chickens. Where is the logic in that?

How's Gus Gus? I had a pet Pekin duck when I was 7 years old named Gus Gus. His buddy's name was Chatter. I'm amazed I still remember that.

Cap, hang in there. You'll come out of this ordeal fine. Hugs cure all ills!

Hugs to you and Mama and Gus Gus and to everyone out there who just needs a hug tonight.:hugs
