Anyone with Eggs hacthing around Nov.19th

OK, took them out, the Frizzles are all great, but all the silkie seem to be coated in sticky glue stuff. 1 is hard like it was coated in glue and dried. That is what was causing them to get the little bits of shell stuck to them. I think I will have to wash them as they are not very happy. Maybe my humidity got up to high from babies hatching? not sure. The white 1 wasn't breathing, not sure what happend but seems alot smaller the the rest are. The egg doesn't appear to have any movement, I put it back in the incubator, will crack a small hole in it after I try to get this stuff off the babies. I am in love!!!

Usually the sticky stuff is from the humidity being too low. As for the other egg, you can candle it first to see if you see the beak in the air sac or any movement before opening it. I opened one once that I thought was dead, only to find a live chick in there that was delayed. It didn't last very long and it died too.
For the babies, I find that a baby hair brush works really good to get them fluffy. You might need to get some warm water and q-tips or cotton balls to clean them with. Just be sure you are in a warm draft free room, so they don't get chilled.

It will also wear off after about a week if you leave it, but it's so fun helping them fluff it all out.

ETA: I had an 11-21 EE hatch two days early today!!! I think I mentioned earlier it was pipping. It is so big and so cute. I have found I would much rather find a pip then go away for a few hours or longer and come back to find an empty egg and get to hunt for the new chick in the hatcher than to keep standing over it waiting...It's much less nerve wracking.

I didn't get a chance to read this whole thread yet, so hopefully everyone here will have a good hatch

This is probably the 6th or 7th time I have hatched eggs from my chickens (at least), and every time they are early!! But yeah, my luck they will then go the full 21 days if I change my mind! Oh well, at least they won't be hatching in the turner!

True! Well my last egg was a quiter. It looks like it may have quit days ago. I didn't really candle them the last week or so. So total count 8 Frizzles from 9 eggs shipped and 4 Silkies from 8 eggs shipped. after 11 days 1 frizzle got tossed (no development and 2 Silkie eggs (1 had no development at all 1 had dark red ring not growth). 1 Silkie quit close to hatch time, 1 pipped started to hatch and past (appeared to have been smaller and not all yolk gone). Not bad for shipped eggs though! I am very pleased. How many days do button quail eggs take? I got some in a order of chicken eggs. If its 16 days then they will start to hatch soon.

Got another early pip!!! This one is a BLRW / Marans mix. And the EE that hatched this morning is huge! These eggs are from Ms. Lewis Rich...And the other EE, and Marans eggs(also from her) are still waiting til Friday to hatch, don't think they'll be early, the early ones were bouncing in their eggs last night when I candled as I moved them to the hatcher...I also have 3 of mine due Friday don't think they'll be early either.

I have 4 Silkie eggs that are due today but they haven't pipped yet.

I'll leave them til the Friday group is done. Hope they hatch, or at least one of them. There was movement in a couple when they were moved to the hatcher.
