Anyone with Eggs hacthing around Nov.19th

aww but blue chicks are way to cute! (you could be like me sitting here with still no pips or peeps) I guess maybe they are saving energy to pop out later when its time for bed. I have checked them twice today and nothing. I can't stare at the bator to well. I didn't realize it was so cold here in warm old NC this morning, stepped out the front door at 6:30 and never hit a step til my butt and back hit the bottom one. OUCH!!! Now my back, neck, hip, and butt are killing me.

I have 2 ducks (Rouen's) good luck with your hatch! I tried to incubate some of thier eggs a few weeks back but none were fertile. Keep us posted on how they do.

I have been searching for eggs from my ducks everytime I go to feed them! Haven't found any yet, but I'm hoping I will. I caught one of my cayugas doing the 'bob' the other day, but it was doing it to a rouen drake, and chasing it around pulling on his feathers!! Some kind of spat I assume!

<edit> Hope you feel better! It was not as cold this morning as it has been the last few days, but I still slipped on the water that had dripped off the roof onto the ramp. It was a bit icy, like frost, but not too bad.

Ah, maybe we were both to tired and not paying attention from staying up watching eggs. I hope you feel ok and are not sore in the morning (is what I am worried about). Any more pipping or are yours taking a break? Still nothing here but they are still rocking so maybe soon. Got any pic's of the cute blue babies so far?

No there aren't any more pips yet. I kind of wonder about them. I candled a few days ago and removed 2 that had died. The rest looked fine. When I moved them last night it looked like there were 3 or 4 more at least that had died. Last night there was one that had pipped the shell and another that had pipped the membrane. This morning I have 2 chicks. Idk if I will get anymmore. I kind of wonder if it is just harder in the winter to hatch eggs. Even with the humidity holding good, it seems like they dry out real fast. These are all from my own chickens eggs, so they haven't gotten too cold or anything.

I have pips!!! This batch is due today and tomorrow. Apparently they're taking their sweet time...

I stll have one egg peeping, so if it hatches that will make 3 chicks out of 12 eggs that went to the hatcher. I had 14 total that were developing, but 2 died about a week ago. I don't know what went wrong with these eggs. I use a seperate hatcher, so they shouldn't be getting bacteria, but that's how they look. I keep the eggs inside for at least a day before setting them, so it shouldn't be that they were wet. I did have the humidity go wacky a few times, but that shouldn't bother them where they were. Plus it would make them die on pipping, and these look to have died around day 16ish. So they didn't even make it to the pipping stage. Idk, another reason why I want to stop.
But I had signed up for the egg swap, so I will need to hatch those, whatever they are.

glad they are pipping for you guys. Mine are still just rocking alittle. I know they still have 2 days but was hoping they would be tonight since I read silkies usually only take 19 days.

How are they doing is this your last egg left Shelly, did you open the others or just know they are not alive anymore? I think mine are finally pipping, the eggs are moving alot more now. I can't see in the window enough to see any pip holes yet though.
