I have a 3 month old goose that lost her foot just below the "ankle" as a gosling. It has healed and I have him in with 3 bantams about the same age for company. I have them in a small run with 1/2 covered so they have access to grass & bugs, but this won't work for the winter. I'm afraid to let her out with my adult geese, 1. because she couldn't keep up with them, 2. I'm afraid they wouldn't accept her and 3. she would be easy prey.. Has anyone had any luck giving a goose an artificial foot/leg? Will he/she need to be confined forever? Will she be able to get around on one leg when fully grown? Thanks for any help you are able to give.

Here's one story about a duck that got an artificial foot. so it can be done.. I'd think as long as kept on soft bedding or dirt[no open wounds] and maybe wrapped during very snowy times the gosling would live as normal as life as possible. but your right I wouldn't let it run with the rest of the geese. http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2013/06/28/3-d-printing-duck-foot/2473703/
