Hey Everybody!! Sounds like things are going really well overall! How fun!
We are on day 10 and it looks like I may have just the two Butterscotch Calls developing. I am waiting longer on the Blacks because the eggs are fairly dark, but I am pretty sure I am making out a blood ring in one, and that makes me think I should be seeing veining in the others, so I am not hopeful about those. I threw out the Butterscotch eggs that had blood rings or showed no development day before yesterday. I cracked them, just to be sure that I was seeing what I thought I was seeing, and was totally right.
The two that are going are really active though! If I wasn't so inexperienced I would swear one had twins because it looks like two embryos moving seperate from one another. I am still really worried about the membranes because they are certianly detached in even the developing eggs, it is really obvious. So I don't know. I am keeping my fingers crossed, and with how active the embyos seem, am hoping they are strong enough to overcome. I am nervous, that if they do develope, the hatch will be hard and I may have to help. Never having done it before I am just afraid that I would make the wrong call and help too soon because I am expecting trouble, or help too late from not wanting to help too soon....or that I would simply help wrong. Also, my local feed stores are starting to wrap up the chick days and it is next to impossible to find ducklings anymore. What am I going to do if only one hatches? Where would I find a day or two old duckling on such short notice?
Yeah, I guess I'm stressing a little...Ha Ha Ha.
I am so happy to hear about everyone's little duckies! quail kid~ That is great! 6/6! So cool!
I can't wait to hear how they all go!

The link is for Day 7 of incubation, but you can navigate to whichever day you're on over on the left-hand side of the screen.
Here's a link to a thread I started on candling duck eggs too: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=304863
The pictures are pretty good through the first week, they get a little tougher to see during the second week, and after that I just gave up.
