Anyone with me?

Lovesduckies~ I can't wait to use our incubator for our own eggs. I really want to sell ducklings next year. I think, after this last go, it will be a little while before I get shipped eggs again. I think I would drive pretty far to pick up eggs from a breed I really wanted though. You should, it is nice to have people selling ducks that are well raised and kept clean. Your girl could get broody anytime now, is that right?

Goat_Walker~ Congratulations! Where are the pics? They must be around here somewhere? Ummm, no.... Don't see 'em. LOL. I really want to see pics if you end up with Muscovy crosses to!

Oh Geez...This will test me.... I just woke up..Let the adults out...Checked the eggs...Then made a coffee and sat down here... Ok..So I am 14 hours ahaed of the time it says on the BYC clock... It now 8.45 am....So last night ( haha my night..) when you asked this question it was around 10.30 pm... Just before I went to bed...... Thats sounds about right too- from memory of when I was posting.

Goat walker...I hate to miss any hatch..I was upset the 2nd setting I ever had As I was scheduled for day surgery.. I got home and three were still in the eggs- but i was still groggy from the op- and fell asleep... At least you are there now- for any latecomers...Look foward to pics.

Well..not much to report this morning- except to say the other 5 eggs are all still alive. They are very dry- and I have rewet the damp clothes over them. I have one egg that has pipped in the middle of the length of the egg - so I have peeled a little shell for that one this morning. Hopefully by the end of the day- by the looks of what stage they are up to - I will have 2 more out.

Noggin in the mean time is scooting around the brooder- I dont think he has worked out how to use those legs yet.- Oh..and the eyes....such big beautiful eyes... I snuck him in bed for a quick cuddle this morning before I got up.

Hey, now I want to cuddle Noggin to! LOL, you'll have to get a pic of her/him all fluffed out. Sorry to make you do math while your just sitting down for coffee, that was me this a.m. when quail kid was like talking code. Seriously who can count before coffee?

So I'm trying to figure out when you say the eggs are dry, do you mean that the hygrometer is reading low all around, or do they have pips and you can see?

I can see the membranes are very dry - my hygrometre is in the other incubator- So im not sire what the reading would be. I have been misting the eggs and keeping a damp face washer over them- and it is definately helping. I have another just about ready to push out of the egg!!

I will go get another pic of Noggin now....

Oh well, I have 8 cute duckings and only one has a problem so id say im doing pretty good! I didnt expect any of them to hatch, lol

Little Noggin will soon have a friend in the brooder... One more has hatched...it just needs to get those big legs out from the egg...Nothing still attached - no yolk left. Another has its head out- It was one i was having to help= but it still has some yolk to absorb so It is sleeping and wont be out until late tonight I guess. 1 other is still working on getting out of the egg....and no signs of action from the last two who are both backwards...Still alive form what i can tell- but no tapping or signs they are trying to pip.
