You could pick up an egg and hold it in your hand to see if you feel it move as long as they haven't pipped. They could be resting, it is a lot of work. How long since you have seen some movement?

I really can't wait to see pics! I know the Kahkis aren't know for being personable, but I have a soft spot for them as they were our first ducks and kind of started this whole crazy ride. I hope she continues to be a good momma!

I'm in FLorida and had a dozen eggs shipped from California..... day 10 Hurricane came thru and wiped out our electricity for 10 days... summer time.... we wrapped the eggs for 2 days til we could find a broody silkie to take them over..... Only lost 2..... so they can survive far better than we believe... I think the first week is the most important.... We've even taken to putting our duck eggs under brooders (chickens or ducks) for the first week before putting them in the incubator... Has REALLY increased our hatch rates....

Wow! That is amazing! I'll keep that in mind about setting them under broodies for the first week. Hopefully next year we'll have some that want to sit.
