great news quail kid 1... they certainly do have a way of keeping us so nervous.

I was surprised last night to find that both the eggs I thought wouldnt make it have pipped on their own. I have to go to work in a few hours- so will be watching them carefully until then. I guess in a sad way - they have helped ease the sadness I have felt since seeing duckling number three. Unfortunately it has hatched with a slipped tendon- and wont have a long life- but for now the gorgeous little one is resting in the incubator. So it looks like I could still end up with 6 from this hatch afterall- and even with the problems I have encounted this time around- I wont be giving up incubating any time soon. Its just so amazing when things actually do turn out right.

Well after my last post at 3am...I now have number 3 and number 4 completely hatched. Number 3 has the slipped tendon

But Number 4 is ok. Of the last two eggs...1 is trying to push its way out now- so hopefully everything will be ok there too.


I really dont want to go to work today.........

Hurray! I'm glad they are out!~ I wouldn't want to go to work either....Stupid economy, making us get up and leave all the fun stuff so we can earn little bits of paper........

I have about 11 out but hard to tell, and 5 or so with cracks. Will post better pictures soon.

lol, well I just put the torch through theincubator and since an egg was close I could see the air cell and the beak going back and forward
trying to pip the air cell!!!!!!
