Hi everyone!

We're brand new to this chicken thing, and just got our 4 chicks last week. They are living in a cozy brooder box in our basement and seem to be doing great! BUT since we have gotten them I have been slightly nauseous. Could this be the chicks? Has anyone else had this? Luckily I think I can move them to the garage if that is the problem.

Just wondering if this really could be why I'm not feeling well?

Thanks!

I have my chicks in a funny closet that is in my basement that has a cement floor and is almost like a mini room. It gets so warm in there, and despite cleaning brooder regularly it smells. If I am in there too long I get a head ache and my husband says he gets nauseous. I think it's the combination of the heat and smell.
It's much more tolerable if I have the door wide open when I am in there so it gets some clean air.

If they aren't making you feel well, no reason not to put them in the garage or even out in a heated brooder area in a coop. They don't have to be in the house.

If you feel better, you can bring them back in and see if it makes you sick. If so, it's the chicks, if not, it's just a bug. I don't keep them inside due to massive chick dust everywhere.
