Anyones eggs freezing??

I know some of ours are freezing, but since we aren't trying to set any I figure we are good

I only know that we've had any frozen because of the one that broke in my pocket and the one I got yesterday that I only knew about because it was cracked

I have all bantams, so I do have heat lamps. ( all very securely put up) I'm sure this helps some. In all but one coop it does keep my water from freezing, except this morning most of them had a very thin layer of ice on top.

It is only -20 here but.... Yes even when it was warmer I was getting frozen eggs because my new layers are making me hunt for the eggs. I think I have most of them laying in the nest again but... I have a feeling because of the frozen eggs I may have an egg eater in the mix too... I am not happy but until I catch her I will just have to wait for warmer weather to actually sit out there and watch for it. I am not freezing my buns off out there as it is I ended up with fingers that felt frozen because I HAD to put vasoline on their combs and waddles last night. Poor cheepers no attention from me

Oh well I am hoping that the weather man was correct in saying we are supposed to get back to 0...

Who would have thunk I want the temp to be at 0.... Crazy winter, I need spring to come soon!!!

A lot of my eggs are freezing. Collecting the eggs in a timely manner just hasn't been a priority of mine this winter. But when they are frozen, I bring them in the house to thaw, and then feed them back to the chickens.

I haven't had any freezing in the coop yet as I collect several times a day ~ but ~ last night ~ the coldest night of the year so far ~ it went down to 6 degrees and "someone" accidentally left the garage door open all night. This never happens, except on the coldest day of the year!

I had 5 dozen eggs in cartons sitting on a shelf in the garage to be delivered this weekend to relatives. It usually doesn't get below 40 in the garage even in the coldest temps. I did check a few of the eggs and the whites were still liquid while the yolks were a little more jelly like. I scrambled them up for the dogs and they seem OK.

Ok, how can I tell if my eggs are frozen or just cold without opening them? I checked 4 times and hubby one time yesterday, our high was 12 or 14. But I know some of the eggs I have picked up have been really cold.

I'm curious about this too. Also, if they freeze, is it bad to eat them once they've thawed in the fridge??
