Hi there..you sound like your farm grew like ours did...exponentially by accidentally hugely!,!, lol..we have goats and all the other animals you have except the Orpington....when you go for it...it’s best to buy in pairs as they are a social animal....and if you tie one up, the other will stay close so hopefully the dog won’t get too upset...lol...but be careful otherwise when you go to buy two goats you’ll get two pot belly pigs and three donkeys like us!! Lol

Many thanks for the welcomes and to answer a few questions asked hopefully without boring you all........

Meant to ask what brought it sent you to Bulgaria? Makes me want to break out my Bulgarian cookbook.

Its a long story (like most things) but basically a divorce left me penniless and homeless and after several years spent getting back on my feet I decided it just was not worth watching my hard earned cash disappearing into the British HM Treasury whilst trying to cover rent/bills/work travel costs/divorce debts etc only just breaking even so my partner and I sold everything and spent a couple of years in Turkey before deciding to try and live a self sufficient lifestyle here as to be blunt it was the only country we could afford to buy a property in and meet the residency requirements, with a few twists and turns on the way and it has been quite an awaking for two people who had never grown or reared anything before, it has been interesting.

what breed is the dog he would enjoy the goat they tend to get along well but need two goats or a horse and goat

We have a Kangal cross, he is a street dog we rescued when volunteering at the Municipality Kennels in Turkey. He still has a few issues even after the years we have had him, he is great with all the animals/birds we have but any intruders of any species beware. I will be honest and say cats are still an issue (and we have lots of them living around us) as they used to be his main meals when he could catch them but we can now walk him past them on the lead and he will tolerate them if they are not close, we think he is about 9 now so I doubt we will get any more improvement but we are still working on it.

Welcome :welcome I’ve only been to Bulgaria once, over 30 years ago.... I remember a trip to the grocery store - slim pickings. Growing and producing your own food sounds like the way to go!

Things have improved but I agree growing and producing your own food is much healthier and as we have found it tastes altogether better.
