Apparently I'm clinging to my youth.

It took a good 22 years to figure out what worked and what was causing hair issues. I'm all too happy to help especially since they market so much crap that dosen't work.:)
Thanks for the tips on products! I like the idea of the castor oil, that stuff has all kinds of healing powers. I guess I'm using all the wrong products. LOL I will look into these things immediately. Your hair looks fabulous! :)

Thanks so much!

I was a carrot top most of my life. I have to admit I miss my red hair. What isn't grey now (I'll be 65 next month) is more of a dark strawberry blonde.

But I still have my freckles on my arms and legs!

When I get a wild hair and want to cover the grey I usually use a blonde that brings out the red highlights in my hair and blends the grey in. I have to admit though that I'm coloring less and less now and am more proud of my grey. I went through a lot and have earned every one of them.

DH was 100% grey when we met. He was 54 I was 52. Very distinguished and sexy. What is that old saying? Grey hair on a man is dignified but grey hair on a woman is old? ;)

That is one of the problems with our society. Everyone fears getting old. But it is much better than the alternative.

I do thank you. I don't think I have 22 more years left to figure this hair stuff out. :th :p

I think 100% white hair is very pretty! Once I'm completely white I will probably let the coloring of any kind go.

I think you are right, people do fear getting old. I am quite surprised at myself, I am rather comfortable with my age and over all self. I enjoy being older and like where I am at emotionally and physically.

Chickassan, Don't care about my hair but, wish I had your wrinkle free complexion, no crows feet no dark circles under my eyes etc. You barely have any gray, it it bothers you why not have some frosting added to your hair - on purpose.

Of course at my age they would wonder what great plastic surgeon I went too.

@drumstick diva lol "Wooly Bully" the song? what about it? // lol I never ever wear a pony tail, I actually keep my hair up in a knit hat when I need to work or just want it out of the way. I keep my beard trimmed, clean, and combed. I'm just a hippie, not a dirty hippie  I'm trying to get a lady and looking like a bum isnt going to do it lol

1 cock & 2 hens - nothing against dreadlocks, pony tails, etc. BUT, all that puts pressure on the hair roots and can cause hair loss, especially at the front of head and top of sides.
I recall being slightly hysterical when I was young and seeing how much hair was missing in front. I had worn a casual pony tail for years. Then a friend decided to show me how to do a real pony tail. She pulled all my hair up and so tightly, my eyes squinted and I got headaches. But tried to do the same as she did. Till i saw all the damage it was doing.

I dated a guy ages ago who could have passed for Charles Manson. Everyone who saw him called him that. Wild hair and mustache and beard. He was driving me home and he turned and said "Why are you looking at me like that? Are you mad?" I said "No, I'm wondering how to find your lips to kiss you." He slammed on the breaks and I found out.

After that he would call while he was working and say "check your mailbox," he had a beautiful rose in there., or sometimes a few. Very romantic man but, you'd never think that to look at him.

That ended pretty fast when I discovered his "divorced wife didn't think it was final." And threatened my life. Later I heard she had broken an expensive door, at another house a few blocks away, where HE had been sleeping in the lady's basement.

Hard to believe a gem like me is still unmarried at 70 3/4 years of age. But I think that's why I have lived this long.

I think you mean Wooly Willy!!? lol My dreads are coming up on 12 years old and i dont see any hair loss, I have a full head of thick hair still. Honestly I'm not really worried about hair thinning or me going just completely bald I know it can happen one day and if it does I'm ready. my moms brothers were all completely bald on top before 30, like shiny, i'm thinking i didnt inherit the gene // probably not as much pressure being exerted as you imagine, the weight is distributed between groups of hairs and not just individual hairs and since i use my hat all the time it lifts it all up keeping it from pulling. when im sitting without a hat a lot of the weight is resting in the chair or on the ground lol // oh gosh i know that ponytail my little sister used to pull her hair so tight that it hurt just looking at her lol

lol wow what a story. unfortunate that all went down like that. i'm lucky, my ex-wife is my best friend, she sets me up on dates sometimes and everything
