Apparently, Winter broodies are going around!

I bet she goes back in the next day or two. One of my EE's is a chronic broody and she always does a single night "test run" a day or two before she settles down for the duration. None of my other broody girls do that, but all three times she brooded this last year she did.

Hmmmm. Well, I was only able to snatch up 4 of those eggs before I slipped on the footstool. No breakage (of eggs or self) but I think this is something I need to do in daylight hours. For better stability. The height of the side walls is more than the length of my arms, so I was leaning over the walls... and it's a coop kit, not as sturdy as a BUILT one. (Which is why it is a grow out coop.)

And there was a little bantam cochin roo on the roost in there, watching me very carefully. So I guess somebody DOES sleep in there! Wonder why he's all alone? Maybe he's the Night Guard Of The Coop?

This little fella. Or his twin. I have two of them.
