Appartment silkie?

Some hens are inoyingly loud when they lay an egg. Assuming it's a hen. If a rooster, you'll have to get rid of it and that only means dinner table for whoever you give it to.

The chicken COULD peck at the bunny? I would be afraid bunnys are shyer than chickens and would hide if it got pecked once or twice as if cowering? Donno, never had rabbits....

ducks are better suited for indoors with diaper because they don't need to scratch. But they still need a feathered friend for when your sleeping and when your at work. They need to feel safe with another buddy to say, "hey, how are you?" "The coast is clear, that sound ment nothing." " how's that water taste today? Same as yesterday? Ok cool. "

True about loudness when laying. Also true...even if you keep the brooder pen what have you inside meticulously clean...it will get smelly. (We had a couple days of cool and a day of rain. Garage door stayed shut...yeah even after cleaning...smelly)

Also there's the problem of reintegration with the flock. If your gf takes the Silkie (which I personally advise against - chickens gotta have some ground to scratch bathe look for bugs etc), and there's problems with the landlord you have the issue of reintegrating her with the flock. There may be bullying. She may not get accepted back into the flock.

Also the social critters aspect.

Yeah the chick is cute now but how cute will it be making a mess of the apartment and when it's all grown up? Like others said its not like the gf couldn't come visit the Silkie at your moms.

Ps. Didn't you get these chicks for your mom? Not for her?
