I think I have appenzeller hobenfitzers. Thought all were females. How can I tell if one is a rooster? One's been sounding like an aspiring "cock a doodle doer". They are just over 5 months

. Mine must not be Appenzeller Spitzhauben because they are "bearded" and don't have the "crown" that this image has. Mine also have brown black and white coloring throughout. I'll post picture's


to see if anyone has clarification for me. Anyone know what breed this is?

Looking forward to your photo...to me, the photo shown has a rather different crest than they are supposed to have; this one is almost like a polish or sultan or houdan rather than a spitzhauben. There are many breeds with the same varieties (colouring and pattern)

Pic's of the girls. Don't know the breed but I sure am enjoying them. Afraid one of my "girls" is a Roo after all. City ordinance says no Roosters in town. I guess I'm going to have to part with him.
