Interesting reading these responses. My dad used to put a tablespoon of ACV in the first drinking water for baby chicks. I don't recall the reason he did this but it was the only time he used it on the chickens.
 
Roman soldiers would put wine vinegar into their water, to keep their canteens fresh.

John 19:29 - "A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop, and brought it to his mouth."
 
I use 1 capful (or so) per quart of H2O every other watering. I notice that the ACV water is drunk more than the non-ACV water (less left between waterings). I think they like it more than plain water
