I have used this remedy for about 3 years now for intestinal problems in young chicks on up to young birds, where bacterial gut problems are suspected. At 2-3 Tablespoons per 3 liters of water for Pasteey Butt in young chicks to higher solution for severe cases. Don't worry if the dropping are dark or have a tarry appearance, it is completely natural and a organic medicine. The helpful people at Cackle Hatchery clued me in on it, to help kill off harmful bacteria in the gut tract system, use it at 1week on, 1week off(weaker solution). Help more affected chick with higher solution, shipped -in chicks more prone to these ailments. ...James

Thank You for the tip. How soon can you use this on the chicks?

The vinegar stays in my kitchen! My chicks do fine without it, and if any develop pasty butt, they also recover without.
If you decide to play with it out there, make sure your birds also have plain water to drink!
