I have read a few post that suggest putting Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in the water for your chickens. I was wondering what the benefits of this are? What age do you start putting it in? Do you stop in the summer when temps rise? Also what amount do you add per quart, and per gallon? Sorry about all the questions in a row.

I put 1 teaspoon per gallon. I had these new hatchery chicks pecking each other like crazy and after drinking the water+ vinegar they ceased but in the 30 minutes before they pecked 2 of my chicks so much around the eyes that I had to cull them because they could not see to eat and were wasting away.
I have also read some think it is a natural wormer.
In the hot weather my chcikens water turns green with alge and if you add some vineger the green color stops.
I would be careful about how much I added to the water.

I have used about 1 tbls per gallon and had no trouble with the birds drinking well. They looked healthy as could be, and I think the ACV helped. I have seen no documents supporting it but the learned opinion of many BYC'ers is that it is helpful in moderation.

I read an article that said rsing ACV in the water supply once a month should help to prevent bacteria building up in the crop of your birds. I have no idea if it works or not, but it makes sense. I use a mixture of white vinegar, water and orange oil at home to clean the hard surfaces in my house for the anti bacterial effects.

If it's organic it's excellent. I recommend Bragg's or Spectrum. Put 1/4 cup of Organic ACV in 1 gallon of water. But if your just starting out just start with a TB and increase weekly until you get up to a 1/4 cup. 1/4 cup = 2oz or 4 TB

I use braggs and have for three years, put 1 tbl per gallon year around,I have had no worms in my chickens and I start the babies out at three weeks 1/2 tsp per quart till they are about three months old then 1 tbl per gallon. Some peaple use 2 tbl per gallon whatever you want.If you goggle acv with mother in it you will find all you need to know about it,make sure it has the mother in it
