Hello!
We have had great success raising chicks without medicated feed or treated water. After the first few days, and a few poop butts later we decided to add ACV into the water. From this point on, we had no more bottom issues, and perfectly healthy chickens. We didn't lose any, nor have signs of coccidia, and they were raised with the taste so they have no problem with drinking. Honestly, I think this is just as important to our flock as the feed.

How much ACV do you add per gallon? I’m trying to avoid medicated feed. Thanks!

On the other hand, I add nothing to the water, and also raise healthy chicks, with no issues.

1 Tablespoon per gallon is the amount I’ve read on several different sources including BYC.

ACV doesn't prevent coccidiosis..I feed medicated although my Chicks are Momma raised outside..Fresh water is all I use.
