Apple Media Backups

Following to see if you find a solution. I personally backed out of the Apple ecosystem as much as possible. I back up my photos to Google Drive, which I pay for, and download a copy to a physical hard drive as well. Certain important photos I have physical copies and a secondary online backup as well.

I self host everything but I should back that up and store the drive at a friends' house.

I use Ancestry for family photos, but last I checked there isn't a great way to organize them there once you start uploading them, just like BYC's media limitations. Thought about Instagram, but not sure. I just want a tablet I can run slide shows or connect a projector to for family gatherings, but also to make sure not everything is depending on the grid.

You can plug a laptop/desktop into a projector and play the slideshow from there.

I have a copy of all my photos on Google Photos, an SSD and HDD drive. Until recently I didn't have them on drives, but now I own my own photos. :)

So moving to Google is almost heresy for me, but I see they support iPhone media. How do you like it?
For photos, it works pretty well. Quality is good, and organization and sharing are pretty streamlined. I do have some privacy concerns though, and for that reason I'd like to find an alternative at some point in the near future.
