Do you have to renew your Permit every year?
how many chickens does everyone have I was thinking 4 to lay enough eggs to keep up with my family of four.

There is no mention of a limit that I can find in the municipal code, but he did ask me how many I was planning. I'm preparing for 8, and he didn't bat an eye at that number. You do have to renew your permit every year by January 31st.

Are your coops stationary or do you use a mobile one so the chickens can get to eat more bugs etc from the lawn.

The smaller one that I started them in is moveable. It's not a tractor but I could move it around. My new one is actually our shed that I'm using half for the chickens and the other for storage. I cut a small door in the side and attached a run. I like the "new" one 'cause it is sided like our house, Just looks nicer and more room.

Hi everyone, I too am from Omaha and am in the early planning stages. The biggest hurdle was making my husband believe I had not lost my mind! I have a neighbor a block away who has raised chickens for over 10 years (including a rooster!) so I know the area is tolerant of the chicken idea! I live approx 40th and Dodge. Nice to meet everyone!
