Approx age and when should they go outside?

Temps are averaging 50s and up to high 30s low 40s at night. I have a poultry water dish with deep reservoirs but apparently not deep enough.

Too low for their age, wait until they have most of their adult feathers in. I'd suggest a deeper dish for them also, the waterer you have in the kiddie pool is not sufficient.
 
Where are you located? Snappers take up a large portion of the US

I'm located where there are snappers but we dont have any in pond. Throughout year we continuously put out traps to make sure there aren't any in there. Haven't been for years. We have plenty of fish with no declining population which also indicates no snapping turtles.

As long as you're sure of it, Snapping turtles will destroy duck populations fast.
 
Thank you guys. Also, the coop is full of straw. I have plenty in it for them. If that makes a difference. And I'm putting fencing over top to prevent hawks and what not.
