Approximately much did it cost to build you coop and run?

WOOWWWWW!! I like this one!!
I went the easiest route - not the cheap route for sure
Bought Chainlink dog kennels from craigslist - everyother kennel (sides from one are the sides for the next one) was just 2 gates (front and back) of the same size again from craigslist. Lowes has a great 10x10 for $315 which made 2 more 5x5 's . Each kennel has a teak slotted panel 4 x10 that was free from a cabana restaurant that wanted to get rid of them, between so roosters cant see each other.
Tops are greenhouse fabric panels, tied on with electric ties (so I dont have to clip many wings), bamboo was free from the forest for perches (used to buy closet dowels). Nest boxes were doghouses from craigslist but now use storage tubs with hole cut in front.

Theoretically - next time I move kennel panels around Id like to work off a central configuration the center will be comprised of the backs of all the kennels.

SOUNDS GREAT huh? till the young old english and tiny serama just walk right through the chainlink
not counting the regular raised chicken houses we built from 2x2-2x4 and plywood UHM ABOUT $4000 in cages
not including the playpens, stainless waterers, stainless feeders, brooders were first giant aquairums now use cheap clear giant storage bins shhhhh no one knows how much I've spent

Thank you! I could not have done it without BYC and its members.

Hawaii does not have severe winters just a rainy season - so obviuosly it wouldn't work (the kennels) on the mainland. But saw a posting about contractors sand which I might do now that I'm ankledeep in mudd

have a new drawing of config using kennels in a circle - anyone know how to load/change a document from wordto an image? for the coop contest??/

Nice coops. I just made someone’s mortgage payment yesterday buying wood for our first coop. I didn’t get everything I need and now think I am going to spend much more then I planned.

I better come up with a $$$$ number that keeps me from getting scalped to tell the wife that I spent when it is over.

Where in MN are you? We have our coop in the garage too. Somewhat similar to yours. My husband might have an idea what we paid lol. Maybe 350, we had some of the building materials left over from other projects, we also fully insulated it.

Our run is a 12 x12 dog kennel panels. Curious why you put all the protection up on your run? I wish we had a top on ours to keep the snow out. We got a little today and they won't come out of the coop. When we didn't have now yet and it was bellow freezing the girls would come outside a lot. They hate the snow! LOL

Nice Looking coop!

The roof is to keep the rain/snow out and the steel siding is to keep the sun out. The plastic was to keep the snow out, but it hasn't snowed yet??? Weird. The run is on the west side of the house, which was awful this last summer. We are going to install a big metal fan on the wall or ceiling fan for next summer. We planted trees next to the run, so hopefully they will live and grow fast for shading. Once the trees grow and shade the whole run, we'll take the side panel off.

The plastic has kept the wind out and the ground is not even close to being frozen! They take a dirt bath everyday! It's nice having the extra room for them to roam. We are in Cedar BTW.
