Fun to see those of us who just started our chicken-raising journey begin to collect eggs from their April hatched chicks!!! I’ve had a “fart egg/Fairie egg” with no yolk, and a double-yoker! What’s the funnest egg you’ve collected from your new layers?

Our Barred Rock, hatched April 1, laid her first egg a couple weeks ago and it was a double yolker. Since then, she's laid a normal egg and a soft-shelled egg. But no eggs since then for about a week now, which seems weird.

Funny - my barred rock “Oreo” did the exact same thing but she’s back in track now. Just takes a bit of time to figure out how the egg laying thing all works. From the four of my 11 chickens, I get two eggs per day. Good luck!!!

What breeds do you have?
I have a mixed flock of 11: 3 Orpingtons (Buff, Lavender, Splash); Barred Rock, RIR, Austra White, Barnevelder, Olive Egger, Easter Egger, Light Brahma, Crested Cream Legbar. I had a BJG but “she” identified as a “he” so he was rehomed to a neighbor where he can be a boy. He still comes when I visit and I call “Chick chick!”. Yours?
