April 1st. setting.. *hatching*| need a buddy.

every egg out of my flock has been fertile for the last 3 months. I have 3 roosters to 6 hens. Every morning when i crack an egg there is a nice bullseye in it. So i dont think that is it.

Are you using an auto turner? or doing it manual?

I am manually turning.

I just checked again and took a couple pics, but you can see anything in the pics. I just took out 3 marans and 3 mixed eggs. I cant see anything but a floating yolk in the marans. The barnyard mix eggs i saw the beginnings of veins in 2 of them.

I am going to leave them alone now until the weekend and try again.

Then I am not sure what it could be. I have a auto turner. All I see is a floating yolk in my marans and Welsummers as well. In one Welsummer I do have a black dot but no veins. Odd that my lightest colored egg has nothing. Do you want me to make a short video of the blob on the fat end of the egg to compair?

Here, I found a photo. Is this what yours look like?

yep i have 2 for sure that look like that.

As mentioned I didnt take out every single eggs to check, just a couple from random spots in the incubator. But one of them that looks like that has the little veins in it.

I cannot remember if this one might have had veins in it. However like I said, with some gentle leaning of the egg, it eventually moved around. I think I had one or two that just stayed on top like that. I just assumed something was wrong. I kinda sot checked because I wanted to get in and out so fast, I could never remember which eggs I grabbed. I am thinking about marking them when I candle in a few days. Since I can never seem to remember which ones had veins or black dots I am going to make a tiny mark on the ones I saw progression in. Incubator just dropped from 99.9 to 96 degrees, must go adjust!

I am TRYING to hold on on candling. My eggs seem extremely porous, so I am not holding my breath. I have a humidity thermometer in there now and it has been staying at about 38%. I also discovered that a part is missing from my borrowed incubator so I ordered it. (the one that protects the chicks from the light bulb... and also serves as a way to candle eggs) When it comes in, I will try to candle again. I did see the yolk mass in one of my EE eggs the other day.
