April 2017 chicks, who will lay first contest...

Mine didn't hatch til may 14th and most of them are buckeyes which are known to take extra long to lady their first eggs so I'm out but I'd love to see pictures of everybody's first eggs

Everyone has a good chance here, I am guessing it could take six or more months for me to get 7 eggs from 7 girls the same day.

Yes, my chicks are from the middle of March so Im out but I want to follow along anyway. I started with 10 but had 3 cockerels who have all found homes so Im left with 7 girls, buff cochin, silver penciled rock, buff rock, barred rock, welsummer, cream legbar, and FBCM. None of which are early layers.

So who is going to lay first? To keep it fair lets limit this to April 2017 chicks, grand prize is the adulation of all participants. The contest is not just when you get your first egg, but the day ALL of your flock lays for the first time that will keep it going longer.
So I have 7 from the first week of April and I expect my brown leghorn or golden buff will be my first layers. I have to get my nest boxes built soon!

Ok, GO!

Hoping egg laying is the right forum?

I'm out, too, because mine were hatched in March. But maybe this is a good place to ask this question: When should I make the nest boxes available to my girls? They currently have a board blocking the entrance because I didn't want them to think that the nest boxes were a nice place to take a nap, but they are 17 weeks old now. Is it time?

Yes, it's time.
Here's a plethora of advice on 'roosting(sleeping) in nests':
