April 2017 chicks, who will lay first contest...

I have 8 hens hatched around April 15th. Not gonna see any soon, but hopeful. I have 18mo Buff and white orpingtons laying at the moment. But I found a mystery egg in the yard the other day, so I am getting excited.

Waiting on 2 welsummer, 2 Cuckoo Marans, 2SLW, and 2EEs. Yeah! So exciting

Here's some of my girls. Hesitant to get a room, but a friend ended up with a NJR roo. If I get a roo, don't think it will be a NJR. So might have to pass. Lol. Toddler+rooster sounds like trouble.

I think I have one getting close... My white leghorn almost 19 weeks old, today she is going around as if she is looking for something, she is friendly with me, not squatting but she actually let me pick her up... She has been following me around and talking alot, bawkk....

I am guessing my first egg will be a white one....

Mine didn't squat. And her comb is small but red. She's laid a tiny egg 3 days in a row!

I've got squatting and complaining in one. Also hanging out under the back porch all day the one place I can't squeeze into unless I pull a board off. That's just fabulous.

I know I don't stand a chance next to all the early Aprils, but it's fun to play!

Well you do stand a chance because you only have 3, I think part of the challenge, if I understand it, is that ALL your April pullets must lay on the same day. I have 6, and 2 are bantams...They may never all lay on the same day, lol....
