April 2017 chicks, who will lay first contest...

Congrats on all of the first eggs! We don't have one yet. But, I do have a couple that have been talking a lot more. Our leghorn, Stella, started squatting today. So, hopefully it won't be too long. I got my chicks a week after Gary, so hopefully we will have an egg within the next week-hopefully before I start school (I'm a teacher-kids start on 16th).

0/7 today, I was really expecting another white egg today

I had a talk with them today, told them that one way or another they need to get the rent paid.... They were full of excuses, well I am not ready yet, my butt hurts YOU try and pop a egg outa ur butt every day! I am not having it, told them its eggs or meat the choice is theirs....

It flew by way too fast! I vote we should go back to starting in September.

Hahhaaha! I been havin this very same talk with the freeloaders for a week now.... noone EVER listens to me! I have four whose faces are bright red... two squatters.... but got bubkus! Even had hubby go under the coop (which he was ever so pleased to do on his hands and knees) but.... BUBKUS!

Speaking of summer vacation, my 6 pullets are lounging around like a bunch of teenage girls on vacation....but that should end very soon for them just as it will humans...I got thus pic today of the whole group just enjoying

a life of ease....

Looks like our talk may have worked, i explained to them that there is no I in team and to encourage each other.

Also egg two weighed in at 41 grams vs 39 egg 1
