Four more this morning!! Three Ameraucana and one more LO! 5 to go. A couple have some pipping/zipping going on, but three are quiet....so we will see how today goes. Super happy with the colours from this hatch!

Sooo.... I had 10/18 eggs hatch this weekend after I stressed about my incubator going wonky the other day. I ended up sending that incubator back but happy I at least got 10 fluffy butts! 4 standard Cochin 1 showgirl and 5 silkies.View attachment 2634566
Congrats on your adorable, cute fluff nuggets! 😍

Our first chick hatched on day 19....two days early! I thought the thermometer was calibrated and accurate, but it must not be (or the incubator has hot spots). The chicks are only barnyard mixes, but it's the first time I've hatched eggs from my own chickens and I am excited to see what they will look like. I think this one is a speckled sussex (rooster)/salmon favorelle cross. Poor little gal (or guy) is lonely...peeping loudly and keeps trying to climb up the glass when I peek in. I hope she gets some company soon. One other egg has pipped, but so far that's all....

Well that took a while! Day 28 started at 1 pm on Saturday, one hatched right around 1pm. The last 3 hatched this morning! The new babies are drying off while the bigger kids are in the brooder.

We set 12 eggs, 2 infertile, 2 quitters and all remaining hatched! I love their little messy personalities already!
