April 2021 Hatch - A - Long

29 eggs went to lockdown. I had question marks on some doubtful ones but I held on until now. 1 of those developed. I’m very glad I gave it a chance. After the initial culls, I have no idea how many of what except for 2 EEs that came from my hens. The others are RIR and black sex-links. Hatch day is Sunday!

I’m at 6 ducklings with another on the way. Here’s some.

I put my silkie eggs on lockdown today at day 17. Took out the turning tray and increased the humidity, I figured it'd better for me to do it early in case the silkies decide to hatch early.
I'm actually expecting all 19 to hatch. Fingers crossed they do, but we'll see.

I know how important fresh air flow is during the hatching process as well as higher humidity. I’m using a Farm Innovators 4250 because I had a lot of extra eggs. With all the water channels full and both red plugs out, I’m able to maintain about 60% humidity. Is that enough? I can plug one hole and get to about 64%. Or open both plugs and put in a small bowl with a soppy wet paper towel?
