April 2023 Hatch-A-Long

Turkey eggs are all alive! They survived the cold night a couple days ago, they should hatch April 23rd if all/they make it.
I'll candle the orpington eggs tonight but its only day 3 so i may not see anything, I'm just curious.
They should hatch May 2nd so I'll be joining the may hatch a long soon. especially since i have 3 broodys as well who should hatch in may, but then again some are bantam so i may add some more last minute chicks here, we will see.

Does this one look splash or blue???? I have 2 for sure blues from my frizzle girl, one for sure splash from her..... Then this one that I can't quite tell....

I’m leaning towards splash because of that light chin fluff but hard to say.

I thought that this amorphous fluff pile would be my last April hatch ( I need a better count but I believe its 63 out of 72 hatched)… but I set a dozen quail eggs along with my duck eggs today and looks like they’ll be due on the 30th so I’m still hanging in the april thread by the skin of my jumbo coturnix beaks.

Day 8 candle and I can see 2 out of 12 developing. TWO! I shouldn’t be sad since I have enough chicks by regular people standards but…these were my first batch I ordered and I carefully selected breeds for my goals. So sad.
Just means I will need to source more eggs? Haha. I’m in love with my little Polish so I want one more at least. More lavender and Isabel colors too…..and another coop. Maybe this won’t be my last hatch this year after all.

Lol you sound like me. I finally convinced my husband to expand the run and adding a 6x6 coop..... Lol. I think I got a lavender Isabel Brahma in my last hatch!!!!! So hoping it is a pullet!
