Hopefully the eggs that aren't supposed to hatch until May 2nd will be fine, first poult (Thats what turkey chicks are called right? ) is out and is rolling around the whole incubator. . i guess the eggs im manually turning right now will get some extra turning sessions.

I have a huge batch of 160 eggs going for April 4th. The ones I posted about in march Hal that caused me to have to juggle incubator space. I have never done that large of a hatch but I’m thinking I’ll just have to make screen lids for the incubation trays and divined them up on a few levels. (These are eggs I’m hatching for someone)

I also have 17 shipped buckeye eggs that I’m hatching for myself. I hatched from this seller last year and got a great hatch rate… my best ever for shipped eggs. Sadly a duo of wild dogs got most of them along with my daughters grown cemani roo when the chicks were a few months old. So I’m trying again. They are in my nr 360.

I ordered a 24 egg disk for my brinsea but the eggs didn’t turn right!!! I’m really confused on that. The 14 egg disk it came with is really nice but the new quadrants seem like much flimsier plastic and in spite of having larger cut out holes wouldn’t turn the medium/large eggs.

Curious to see photos of the tilt modification!

Just joining the hatch-along, but you are talking about some issues I'm also experiencing. I do really like my Brinsea. I get better turning results if I increase the turning time for more seconds. Ones that are dragging will eventually start to turn that way. I do fiddle a lot with initial positioning to get everyone rolling, and I do put pointy ends out to avoid getting hung up on the rounded exterior edge. My smaller eggs turn without issues, but the very large Marans eggs are often problematic.

Ok I can’t find that other thread now about the Brinsea 24 turner issues so I’ll just post here. I have noticed that the larger eggs are having issues if they are on the outside ring of the turner. I had a few larger eggs get out of place there, but I moved all of the larger eggs to the inner ring now and so far so good. They have been in the incubator about 24 hours now.

In case anyone is interested, I posted in the thread @Dinoroar started and uploaded some photos of the fix I made for the turning issues.

Below sleepy chick from blue egg, I am giving it egg yolk. IDK if it will be enough...

Anyone hatching ducks ?
I'm on day 24 and I can see shadowing and air cell dropped quite a bit. Not internally pipped yet
Shall I up the humidity now wait till I see external pip ?

Unless they are call ducks, I'd wait another couple of days on the humidity.

Nope they are Pekin Rouen
I have my humidity at 40 ish and a wet sponge ready to be added

Well I lost a chick. One of my assisted hatches started getting lethargic and refusing food, and ended up dying last night. I am hoping it was just some kind of birth defect, but just in case, I am putting some coccidiosis meds in the water. Fingers crossed it was nothing contagious to the other chicks.
