Pdsavage all eggs made it here safely. Any clues as to what they are? I see a couple labeled mf which I assume is Mille fleur (sp?) d'uccles and two that look suspiciously like duck eggs. Are they? I love duckies!
I have been very MIA this month spring brings lots of work. The eggs I sent you are mixes with possibilities of pure. The pure possibility would be jersey giant and Easter egger. The others are great layers of large to extra large brown eggs. I am crossing different types of hatchery egg layers the extra Roos if kept dress out to around 5 lbs at 20 Wks. The Roos are golden comet, jersey giant, what is supposed to be a blue wheaten americauna but I have my suspiscions that it's an Easter egger although it is close and 2 white Easter eggers. Hens/pullets are golden comet, dekalb amberlink, production red, jersey giant, amberlink/comet mixes, Easter eggers and 2 supposed to be blue wheaten hens but once again suspicions of Easter eggers.
This will be the last hatched like that mixes went to auction along with 2 Easter eggers and stupid barn cat killed one of my original comet hens then said barn cat went on trip to SPCA. My fiancé caught her with one of my Easter eggers in her mouth clucking like crazy. Dumb cat wasn't even eating just decided that day that it wanted to kill them all.
Unfortunately it was the day after I took the others to auction so now I get very few eggs.

The 2 large eggs are from my muscovies
I was wondering what the 2 large ones that you sent me were..now I know .
OMG!!! I just got my 3rd swap eggs. I am totally blown away! 2 dozen marans test eggs from Losapaints.
I have never hatched Marans eggs before. Should I expect or do anything different? Someone on another thread said they "sanded" their Marans eggs because they are harder for the chicks to hatch out of otherwise....is this something I will need to do? (Marans hatching advice much appreciated!)
